Living Deadopoly (livingdeadopoly.com) is a free browser game. This page explains what information the site collects when you visit or play, why, and who else receives it. You do not need an account to play, and we do not ask for your email address, real name or payment details.
What you give us
Leaderboard scores. When you finish a game, the game sends your result to our server so it can appear on the public leaderboard: the player name you typed, whether you won, how many rounds you lasted, your highest brain total, the game mode, and (for the daily game) that day’s board. Your player name is shown publicly, so do not use your real name or anything private. Names that look offensive are replaced with “Anonymous”.
To limit spam we also store a short, one-way scrambled code made from your IP address. It lets us spot repeated submissions from the same visitor without keeping the address itself. We keep a temporary counter, for up to one day, of how many scores that code has sent. Scores stay on the leaderboard until we remove them.
What stays on your device
The game saves your player name, chosen figure, preferred game mode, your game record and your achievements in your browser’s local storage, so they are there next time you visit. This information stays on your device and is not sent to us, apart from the leaderboard result described above. Clearing your browser’s site data deletes it.
Analytics on our web pages
To understand how many people visit and how the site is used, our regular web pages (such as the home page and this page) use these services. They may set cookies or similar identifiers and receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed and where you came from:
- Google Analytics, through Google Site Kit. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors scroll, click and move around a page so we can see where the site is confusing. Clarity does not capture what you type into forms. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
- Jetpack Stats, by Automattic, which counts page views. See Automattic’s privacy policy.
- WP Statistics, which runs on our own server and counts visits without sending data to anyone else.
Our host, Bluehost, also keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses, as every web host does.
The game page
The game itself, at /play/, does not load the analytics services above. To draw the game, your browser downloads fonts from Google Fonts and the 3D graphics library from unpkg.com, a public code delivery network. Like any website your browser contacts, those services receive your IP address and basic browser information when the files are downloaded.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information, show advertising, or ask you to create an account. We use the information above only to run the game and leaderboard, keep spam out, and improve the site.
Your choices
- Use a nickname, or leave the name blank to play as “You”. You can also play without your scores appearing under a recognizable name.
- Block or delete cookies, or use your browser’s tracking protection, to limit the analytics services. The game still works.
- Clear this site’s data in your browser to erase your saved record and achievements.
- Google offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. The only thing a player submits is a chosen player name and game results.
Changes
If we change what the site collects, we will update this page and the date at the top.
